McLaren House

McLaren House

McLaren House provides 110 units of supportive housing for individuals with HIV/AIDS who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The project was developed in partnership with the Province and the City of Vancouver as part of a wider initiative to end homelessness by providing safe and affordable housing and support services. The building is certified LEED Gold, integrating a combination of passive and mechanical design features including a solar thermal array for space heating and domestic hot water, and a green roof to help reduce the heat island effect. The residents benefit from a diversity of amenity spaces within the building, including skills-development facilities, communal lounges, patios, and a rooftop garden. Each unit was carefully designed to provide a high level of liveability within an efficient floor layout, creating safe and comfortable environments for independent living.
