Amela Brudar
Principal
Amela is a principal and the managing partner of GBL Architects responsible for the operations, design overview and relationships with external stakeholders of the multi disciplinary architectural and interior design studio.
Since 1994 Amela has been deeply involved in many major market and non-market residential and mixed-use projects, shaping communities, elevating the quality of design, and promoting sustainability in the construction industry.
Amela has mentored and supported young generation of Architects for many years. She instills the principals of inclusivity, fairness, support and well-being as she contributes to GBL studio with commitment and passion.
For decades, Amela has been a practicing architect, has demonstrated excellence in leadership, volunteered, advocated and has been an active community contributor. Amela’s contributions to the profession have been recognized at the National level when she has been elected a Fellow of the RAIC in 2023. Amela was a member and a chair of the Vancouver Design Panel, a member of Registration Board and founding member of the Qualifications Committee at the AIBC. Amela is currently involved with several municipality initiatives in advisory role.
